Nikki’s murderer, David Bogdanov was found guilty of Murder 2 and Malicious Harassment on August 27th, 2021.
We at the Justice for Nikki task force hope that the judge sentences David Bogdanov to the longest amount permitted for the class of convictions.
We want to pack the courtroom with community members to show David Bogdanov that it took a community of people advocating for Nikki that put him where he is. We ask that you wear pink, shirts with Nikki’s picture or name on them, represent Nikki in anyway that you can so people in the courtroom know you’re here to show support.
Lisa will be sharing her victim statement before sentencing is decided, and we want to make sure Lisa feels the support of the community around her who fought alongside her through these last 2 years.
We are also asking the court to allow a task force statement to be read aloud in the court. This was a hate crime and David needs to hear the impact it had on the community as a whole. If the court does not allow this, we will read our statement after the hearing on the front steps of the courthouse.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions we are unsure how many people will be allowed in the courthouse, but if you’re hoping to be inside, please make sure you’re wearing a mask. We will also ask that people outside wear a mask also where distancing can not be facilitated.
